Audiences can look forward to Irish musical comedy Sing Street, on opening night. A heart-warming tale of riches to rags amid Ireland’s crippling recession, Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) attempts to woo a mysterious girl from the school yard whilst dealing with bullies and a harsh home life in the decade that style forgot. Set in ’80s Dublin, Sing Street is a riot of stone-washed denim with a soundtrack to match.
The Travelling Film Festival and Good Pitch Australia will also be presenting a special screening of Australian documentary Constance on the Edge. Constance, a Sudanese refugee, has spent years in border camps before making Wagga Wagga her hometown. This heart-warming film will screen on Saturday 20 August at 11am.
