Good Pitch Australia has announced the selection of six new feature documentaries for its next event at the Sydney Opera House on November 8, 2016. To date, 13 films have benefited from this highly successful independent philanthropic funding model. SCREEN NSW STEPS UP GENDER PARITY PUSH

Screen NSW is stepping up its push for gender equity in the screen sector, announcing a requirement that all TV drama series must now include female key creatives on their team in order to receive development or production finance. WAKE IN FRIGHT PRIZE AWARDED TO AFTRS MASTERS GRADUATE CHLOE RICKARD

AFTRS Masters of Screen Arts & Business graduate Chloe Rickard has been awarded the school’s annual Wake in Fright Prize. Chloe is the second AFTRS student to receive the $1,000 prize, awarded by the Wake in Fright Trust, which owns Ted Kotcheff’s 1971 classic film. The Prize is awarded for the best thesis by a student in the AFTRS Master of Screen Arts and Business (MSAB) program. Chloe’s thesis is about ways of integrating audience feedback in the development process. CLEVERMAN HEADS TO NEW ZEALAND’S TVNZ

Goalpost Pictures Australia, New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures, TVNZ, alongside Entertainment One (eOne) who handle domestic sales on the series for Australia and New Zealand, have announced that Cleverman has been sold to TVNZ.   All six episodes of the critically acclaimed series, which was recently renewed for a second season, will be available from Monday July 25 on TVNZ OnDemand, and the series will air on DUKE at a later date.   CLEVERMAN is an official Australian/New Zealand co-production between Goalpost Pictures Australia and Pukeko Pictures.
