Get a Sneak Peek: A Morsel of This Year’s Inner West Film Fest Program!

The 2nd Inner West Film Fest [IWFF] has announced the first five films from this year’s program, including actor and director Faouzi Bensaïdi’s comical road film, DÉSERTS, which premiered at the Cannes Director’s Fortnight; and the Australian premiere of DRUGSTORE JUNE, co-written, produced and starring comedian Esther Povitsky, with a side-splitting support cast, including Beverly D’Angelo, James Remar, Haley Joel Osment, Bobby Lee and executive producers Bill Burr and Al Madrigal, in this satire promising to leave audiences grinning (and groaning) from ear to ear!

Blackmagic Design announce that the acclaimed independent feature film Something in the Dirt, which was nominated for the NEXT Innovator Award at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, was graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio editing, grading, visual effects (VFX) and audio post production software.

The film is the third in the series from legendary Australian producer Phil Avalon, with the original 1977 low budget production introducing Mel Gibson to audiences prior to his breakthrough role in Mad Max two years later. The second edition came in 1988, titled Breaking Loose: Summer City II. Directed by award winning director Clive Fleury, Sons of Summer features Australian star Isabel Lucas and New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison. Colorist Tashi Trieu has worked with James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment for a number of years as a DI editor, including the remaster of Terminator 2 as well as Alita: Battle Angel. For Avatar: The Way of Water, Trieu moved up to colorist, working closely with Director Cameron.
