Australian actor Brenton Thwaites, next to be seen in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, has signed on the dotted line to appear in Ghosts of War, an upcoming thriller from Eric Bress (The Buttefly Effect).

Set at the tail end of World War II, the film sees a group of five American soldiers holed up in French chateau, who come up against an otherworldly threat far worse than the Nazis who used to occupy the place. Shades of Michael Mann’s the Keep? Thwaites’ character, Chris Goodson, is described over at Coming Soon as “…a natural leader and brilliant strategist who is plagued by battle fatigue.”

Sounds like good fun – the world needs more supernatural war stories. The project is in early pre-production now, but could be worth keeping an eye on.
